Our People
The Coffee Equipment Company and the Clover brand were founded in 2004 by Zander Nosler and Randy Hulett. Our mission: to change the coffee equipment industry and to align it with the values of our customers: quality-minded roasters and retailers. And so the tooling began. Not just of a new brewer, but of a new kind of company. One that was intensely focused on solving old problems with new ideas. And on holding quality above all else - in coffee, in equipment, and in how the two come together.

Add ten team members of exceptional skill to the mix, and the result is a precisely engineered, highly caffeinated company located deep in the heart of Free-Lard (i.e., between Fremont and Ballard, two of Seattle’s favorite neighborhoods). Every day starts by brewing Clover coffees from beans delivered by our roaster friends around the world. For the Clover team, coffee is not just the world’s second largest commodity - it represents an important chain linking people together, and in turn linking us all back to the environment.

Our Focus
Brewed coffee is the traditional beverage of North America. And yet during the past twenty years, most of the industry’s focus has been on espresso, leaving our traditional beverage to languish in the corner - in air pots, or worse, the office coffee maker.

A growing number of people in the coffee community are looking to change all that. And the need seems clear. On the one hand, we see coffee like fine wine, with the ability to exhibit a glorious range of complexities, including place, season, and process. On the other hand, there’s been no fast yet sophisticated way to bring this experience to the public, and innovations seem to be happening everywhere except in equipment. With Clover, our goal is to change it up. To bring quality and speed together - at last - and pour the world a damn good cup of coffee.

Our Vision
To continue creating the finest machinery that’s worthy of your finest beans. Check back often and look for a range of future products under the Clover brand - all focused on improving coffee’s journey from plant to person.
